    Okaaay so im a 13 yr old girl and i want to go on a diet. Please please please dont tell me that i dont need to go on a diet or anything. My weight is about 5-6 stone. I want to cut out all junk food. and the only exercise I want to do is swimming, yoga, or workouts i can do in my bedroom. I have no problem eating healthily. Can someone please make me a diet plan ( like a schedule) including food and exercise for like evrday of the week) obviously i have school (9-3:30) This would really help me and i will give you as many points as possible if you give me a good answer thankyou x

    Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way and get slim on the process:

    1. Lose weight with water.
    Water is essential for everybody – it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven't been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.

    By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention.     2. Soup up your weight loss program.

Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.

    4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.
    Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.

    5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet.
    Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don't last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function – not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.

    Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.

    Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.

    6. Walk off the weight.
    The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.

    Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.

    I'm not a nutrition expert by any means but I can tell you that losing 25-30 pounds in a month is not healthy at all (unless you are about 400+ lbs would be my guess). However, you are giving her great advice by telling her to build good eating habits and not starve herself and by putting her through exercise that is fat-burning and sweat-inducing. Commitment is a big part, but don't confuse commitment for fanaticism, like working out eight hours a day (extreme case there). Normally, it's safe to lose one, two, maybe three pounds a week; to be honest three is pushing it a little bit.

    Also, these diets that people post are often extremely harmful since depriving yourself of food sends your body into "starvation mode" where it conserves all that you eat as fat. It's devastating to your body and your mind. Try instead to limit fat intake to 20-30% daily and try to avoid saturated and trans fats. Unsaturated fats are the necessary fats that your body needs to operate.

    Back in October 2011 I weighed in at about 354 lbs. Now in May 2012, I weigh in at about 286 lbs. I've done this by working out 3-4 times a week (lifting, running, occasional yoga & a little cycling for warming up) The thing is, I feel like I look the exact same in the mirror. Most of my weight is in my stomach & I'm really ready to take my work out to the next level. I've always been on the stronger side so I would like to get 'buffer' and 'look better' and lose my belly fat. I watch what I eat as good as I can for a 22 year old.

    Average day would include high fiber wheat cereal with strawberries and skim milk – mid morning snack would be some cucumbers – lunch would be turkey and tomato sandwich on whole wheat and some carrots – afternoon snack would be a banana – pack of oatmeal before my workouts when i left and run – dinner can of tuna or an egg loaded with a variety of veggies cooked in olive oil. I try to drink as much water as I can during the day. Now of course I go out for dinner on Friday nights & drink a beer or 2 and eat a little out of the ordinary (grilled chicken sandwich & some fried pickles – theyre to addicting and I can't get EVERYTHING up). I have not had dessert, fast food, soda in what feels like years. I believe my diet is on the right track.

    Can I please have some advice on diet, strength training, work out schedule, or anything that will help me get my weight loss and work outs to a whole nother level would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

    I practice yoga regularly, but my main purpose for doing so is to stretch out my muscles. They get very sore and tight from my workouts. I think yoga can help you lose weight if you are severely overweight, because at that point any kind of physical activity can be strenuous. However, if you are moderately fit already, I would not expect visible results from yoga alone.

    Yoga is great for muscle definition. Stretching is extremely important when you want to enhance and train your body to display a strong lean cut.

    To lose weight you must eat a balance diet, use exercise resistance bands, run on treadmill or use something like the air climber to burn more calories than you intake.

    1. Visualize yourself being at the weight you wish to be.

    2. Juice fresh fruits and vegetables everyday. You would alternate once day fruits and next day vegetables.Fruits contain water and sugar so you want to eat less fruits than vegetables. Try to find a balance.

    The reason you want to juice is simply because the body will not be forced to break down the food to the point where most of the nutrients will be destroyed by stomach acid. By drinking it the nutrients are absorbed faster and utilized more efficiently by the body.

    my sister, to whom i am extremely close, has been diagnosed with an illness, which is a tumor, not exactly cancerous, but needs chemo etc. doctor says she can live for long as it can be treated like a chronic illness.

    but she is very depressed and shattered by this. I have tried 2 years to give her courage, confidence, positive thinking, to make her be pro-active in her disease mANAGEMENT, eat well, medidate etc. i feel positive thinking is essential and constantly encourage her, read latest treatments, examples of long-term survivors etc. i recovered from health problems by positivre thinking, lifestyle changes, meditation.

    But I am not able to get my sister to pull herself together to beat the illness, She is always scared, hunching in depression, lying down with no energy, thinking of side effects of medicines etc etc, refuses to be cheerful, active, refuses meditation etc etc . i am scared negative thoughts and lifestyle will aggravate her illness.

    I am tired, frustrated and very depressedI constantly think of her and worry that she is not pulling herself together. i have seen yoga, meditation etc do wonders to me. Her lack of initiative in curing herself is draining my physical and mental health and affecting me day-to-day.Professional help for such conditions/ support groups are not options in India,

    Hi guys, anybody out there who has tried the HCG diet and has kept the weight off afterwards? I'm been reading some very good reviews about HCG and I'm thinking of trying it. I would've went ahead and tried it but it's very expensive so I want to make sure that I'm getting my money's worth first. I'm only looking to lose about 5 to 10 pounds. I'm not really obese or even extremely overweight but I'm quite short and the extra weight on my thighs, hips and arms can make me look squat. I feel like these extra pounds are genetic because I do running and yoga twice a week and I stay away from sugars and processed foods. Would you recommend this diet? Thanks!

    Eh i saw a couple people doing it on that t.v show doctors but they were atleast 40-60 lbs overweight. You wanna lose 5-10 lbs which isn't bad at all, i mean that's what 1-2 months of working out? P.S the HCG diet does work but is costly.

    The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission issued seven warning letters on Tuesday December 6, 2011 to companies that sell the over-the-counter products, noting they have not been approved by the FDA for weight loss. The drops do not contain hcg hormone but similar synthetic peptide amino acids. This is the first step in terminating the sale of the ineffective drops.

    Finally the Food and Drug Administration has taken steps to stop these possibly harmful products.
    Anyone that lost weight on the diet protocol only did because they were eating 500 calories a day and in starvation mode. The drops legally cannot contain any real hcg anyway. Most conscientious pharmacies have already pulled them from the shelves and others are selling down.
    The side effects of the hcg diet protocol are the side effects of malnutrition. These include headache, hair loss, interruption of menstrual cycles, fatigue, feeling lightheaded, disorientation, stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea.

    The hcg diet is a scam because HCG does nothing for fat loss. It was a scam from the get go and doesn't work any more than the other junk on the market like acai or green tea. Even if you manage to lose some weight from the diet alone you will only gain rebound fat because you've done nothing to change your eating habits. That will lead to yo-yo'ing until you finally learn that diets don't work and the only way to lose fat and keep it gone is to make a lifetime commitment to proper eating habits. After all, staying slim only gets more difficult with age. So, you may as well make that commitment now and establish proper eating habits instead of trying an easy way that doesn't work.

    I have some questions about losing weight. All I ever see online about working out is stupid yoga or stretching and things like that. I am more into the weight lifting and cardio things. The only problem I have with this is the only time I can do this stuff is in the morning at like 5, and I am always super tired and not motivated at all to workout. How can I become more motivated? I have come to hate working out because I always am tired and I don't work hard so I am not seeing results. Please help! I reallyyyy need to lose like 50 lbs by the end of the summer and I wont be able to without being motivated to work out.

    Well I hate that my thighs touch and how my stomach is. I wouldn't say that I am fat, I'd more chubby and podgey and i'd like it to go.
    I'm starting yoga and I'm going to be doing skipping a lot as I heard that 10 minutes is the equivalent to 20 minutes of running.     Yes that's a great start! yoga is definitely good but more cardio activities would be better for weight loss. So perhaps stick with your current ideas but also add some cardio like the elliptical machine or even sports like badminton which are fun! Also, make sure you are eating sensibly too.     So I'm not good at math, for starters, which is why I am asking this question. I am a little short, and I'm14 turning 15. I weight about 65kg, (I know, eww) so I'm obviously overweight, and I need to get to 47-48kg. I have fully adjusted to a healthy eating plan of toast for breakfast, a piece of fruit for morning snack, a salad/salad sandwich and for dinner soup, but that had been during the holidays, when I wasn't doing much. I have started school, and I do 6 hours of dance, an hour swimming, an hour of yoga, and two hours of school sport (whatever we are doing that lesson). So I was wondering how long it would take me to get from 65kg, to about 47-48kg. Answers are really appreciated!! Really! Btw I was doing all of that before, I just SERIOUSLY gained wait during the holidays!!! I know its horrible!!!

    without having to worry about being unhealthy

    of say you are doing high rep weight training for 45 mins 4 days a week
    and running 4 days a week for 30-40 mins

    okay so I have noticed my boyfriend has been very critical of my looks….
    like the other day i ran into him on campus and i was wearing jeans and a v neck polo… and i had my hair curly (which he said he likes) like we saw eachother and he was kind of acting weird…. well later on we were texting and i asked why he was acting weird he was like im confused…. so of course i asked why
    and he was like why was there a clip in your hair i told him to hold my bangs back b/c we were working with harsh chemicals in my chem lab, then he was asking why i wore my sperrys on a warm day… i said once again i was in lab i need to wear closed toe shoes then he was like i just dont see why i have to tell my girl friend whats beautiful or not… like he has told me before he likes when girls wear earings… which i do most of the time when we hang but sometimes i just plan forget (my bad?)
    and he wants me to wear super tight shorts and stuff which i am not ok with 1 because i think it is tacky to dress like a slut like it isnt like i wear baggy clothes i wear shorts that are like mid thigh ish alittle shorter? and normal shirts not loose not tight and he told me he didnt like me wearing yoga pants …. which i was going to getmy nails done then i was going to target to do some food shopping (it was yoga pants and a polo v neck ) and he doesnt understand why i got mad he was telling me what to wear
    like i work full time where i have to dress very professionally and i am a full time college student going for bio-chemistry… so i only get one day a month off where i dont have school or work ….i feel like i have the right to wear yoga pants…. but why is he being controling

    keep in mind we met at the gym… so it isnt like i was dolled up i was wearing work out pants wourk out tank and sneakers….

    why is he acting like this?

    dont change who you want to be, speak to him tell him you are who you are thats why he liked you. you are not a project he can work on, sure its nice to dress up for him once in a while, that shows you want toimpress him, but dont let that impact your everyday life, your sense of worth or the person you show your self to be.

    1. because he is a guy. 2. Guys like girls who look and DRESS like girls do. Not yoga pants, guys like tight jeans and and cute girl shirts/ short shorts. GUYS HATEBAGGY CLOTHES!!!. You don't have to be a slut even the slightest to wear those. 3. Looks are more important to guys than girls because thats how we are born. A guy needs to feel more physically attracted and a girl more emotionally attracted.

    Get away from him. When a guy starts controlling what you wear and do like that it means that it will probably be an abusive relationship, even if it hasn't gotten to that point yet. Please, please do not be one of those women who just let men completely control all aspects of their life and just take verbal, mental, or physical abuse because they think they love the guy.

    If he is embarrassed because your not wearing tight shorts in public I would say that's a problem. If he truly cares about you and finds you attractive, public appearance in the manner deemed suitable only if you look "hot" all dressed up doesn't seem genuine in the slightest. It sounds more like hes afraid how he looks in public view andthinks you do not look attractive in your selected attire.To be honest, every girlfriend I had genuine feelings for, I thought she couldn't look any better then when we were just hanging out and she had some sweat pants and my T-shirt on with her hair pulled back, NO MAKEUP. That's how you know you really care for the woman, when you look at her, the real her, and just know she's yours. Corny yes.. but it's the truth.

    Sorry men aren't answering this. As a woman, I say… dump him. I went out with guys like that. Anyone who truly loves you and isn't superficial won't care. He's being controlling is right and he wants you to be a reflection of his taste in women. He isn't seeing the person you are inside and that's not good. If a guy thinks you are good looking, he'll think you look great in a jogging suit. Get rid of this controlling narcissist. He sees you as an extension of his taste in women and nothing else. It would be one thing if he told you he'd like to see you dress nice, because you are beautiful, but that's not what is happening. He's telling you he wants you to look like a walking sexpot, so his friends will be jealous and he can be proud with his macho imagine intact. If that's what makes him proud about you and not the brain in your head, get a boyfriend who sees you for your brains. I had no idea men were so into fashion. Ditch him.
